La Cala golf resort La Cala Resort, the resort is only 20 minutes from Marbella and 30 minutes from Malaga Airport, the largest golf complex in Spain, is an exclusive residential and recreational estate of approximately 1,000 acres situated on the famous Costa del Sol between the Sierra de Mijas Natural Park and the Mediterranean. Although located in a tranquil area, the North Course (now renamed Campo America) is perhaps more difficult than the shorter South (Campo Asia) but both demand great accuracy from the tee and careful club selection. Meanwhile, there is a third golf course, Campo Europa. The layout allows for plenty of water hazards as it uses the River Ojen in making the course distinctive. All three offer different challenges to all levels of golfers and demand fair course management in addition to a wide variety of shots.
Calanova Golf Club which is located in the New Golf Valley in Malaga is a great par 72 new course located in Mijas. The Club is part of the Aymerich Golf Management Gold Programme. This Programme allows Calanova members to play as members in all the courses that Aymerich manages throughout Spain and France. The course has an exquisite and spectacular layout, enables the player to use the strategy during the whole round. It has the best views to the sea and to the mountains in the whole Costa del Sol.
El Chaparral Golf Club has become one of the most recognizable courses on the Costa del Sol. The course consists of 18 holes situated in one of the most privileged settings on the Costa del Sol. This beautiful course is only 700 metres from the beach surrounded by trees, offering what every golfer is looking for peace! The course was designed by Pepe Gancedo, it is the only course on the Costa del Sol made up of 6 par 5´s, 6 par 4´s and 6 par 3´s. Players of all levels can enjoy the variety of holes and not a course excessively long (5,800 metres). The greens are in fantastic condition all year long.
La Noria golf club, The golf course was designed by Francisco Navarro and is challenging for beginners and experienced players. La Noria is a 9-hole, par 33 golf course situated in the county of Mijas, between Fuengirola and Marbella. It is located on the flats of La Cala and with easy access to the N-340 motorway. The course is flat, there is one par 5 of 438 metres and 4 par 4s ranging from 198-310 metres. There are three lakes on the course and a river that crosses the course, forming the course's spine.
Cerrado del Aguila Golf and Resort is the latest project created and designed by the Developer, GRUPO C. There will be more than 70,000 square metres of green areas and 6 kilometres of roads, all of which will be placed around or within the magnificent 18- hole golf course. It is planned to develop a "Golf Hotel Resort" offering the guests fabulous views of the Mediterranean sea, the Mijas mountains and the golf course below.
Mijas Golf Club offers two golf courses.
Although both courses are the work of the same designer, there is no doubt there are interesting contrasts between the two courses: if Los Lagos are based on hazards of water and sand, Los Olivos is strategic narrow tree lined fairways and elevated greens.
Los Olivos was Designed by Robert Trent Senior, the main feature which distinguishes this course from The Lakes is the abundance of trees hence the name and its smaller size, as well as fewer water hazards. The greens are smaller, undulating and well defended
Los Lagos It's a course especially for amateurs, but at the same time, it can present a challenge for the best golfers. It was founded in 1976 with its 6,367 metres, this course is the longer. Los Lagos is a ground course with wide fairways and a few forest trees obstacles, but is defended by many bunkers and nine lakes, from which the course gets its name and which easily trap the ball. It is a course with soft movement and large greens.
Miraflores golf club Designed by Falco Nardi and opened in 1990, Miraflores Golf Club has undergone a transformation and offers a real challenge to all levels of golfing ability. When you first look at the course it does not appear as flat as it actually is. Each one of the 18 holes offers a different challenge. Only three kilometres from the N340 and the A7 toll road at Calahonda, Miraflores is situated in the very heart of the Costa del Sol's many golf courses.
Santana golf club Santana Golf and Country Club is an 18 Hole golf course par 72 of approx. 6203 metres (just under 7000 yards) in length, set in 138 acres of picturesque parkland. It is situated between La Cala de Mijas and Fuengirola, Santana Golf Course and Country Club has breathtaking views of the Mijas mountains but is still close to the Mediterranean sea. The course, sympathetically laid out by the architect Cabell B. Robinson, is set in a former avocado plantation which provided a natural solution to many problems. The final result is a superb course with wide and well defined fairways on level terrain.
