One of the great things about eating out in this region is the sociability of the Andalucians. Family and friends, often with children in tow, start early with tapas and continue eating until well after midnight. Some of the best restaurants have grown from ventas (family run rural restaurants) and tapas bars serving food based on fresh produce and home cooking; all give excellent value for money.
Something that cannot be missed to be mentioned is the wide range of beach bars and restaurants that can be found directly on the beach. These so called "Chiringuitos" are typical for the region and serve delicious seafood along with other dishes and all types of drinks. Many of the chiringuitos are only open during the day but some of them also open their doors in the evening and at night when you can sip a cocktail while listening to the music.

Vista Del Mar - The beautiful restaurant Vista del Mar was the destination of this weeks food review and for good reason. The Vista del Mar at Miraflores already has a good reputation for its Friday night Spanish evenings and daily a la carte menu but Sunday was the first evening of its Hog Roast, believed to be the only spit-roast hog night on offer along the coast.
